Restort – Privacy Policy (Public Beta)

1. Information We Collect

When you use Restort, we may collect the following types of information:

• Email address - used for account registration, authentication, and essential communications
• Username and display name - your chosen identifiers on the platform
• Profile media - such as profile pictures or banners you upload
• Activity status - what you're currently doing, if enabled (e.g., playing, listening, watching)
• Device and browser information - collected optionally to help improve compatibility and performance
• Crash logs - collected optionally to help diagnose and fix issues
• Message metadata - such as timestamps and conversation participants, but not message content
• Essential security and authentication logs - to protect your account and the platform

2. Message Privacy

We do not access or read private message content. Your conversations are yours. Restort is designed to respect the privacy of your communications. End-to-end encryption is planned for the future to further strengthen message privacy.

3. Use of Data

The data we collect is used to:

• Operate and maintain the Restort platform
• Improve platform stability, performance, and reliability
• Prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect users

4. "Use Data to Improve Restort"

During the Public Beta, the "Use Data to Improve Restort" setting is enabled by default and locked on. This allows us to use anonymized usage data to improve platform reliability and fix issues more quickly. Once the beta period ends, this setting will become optional and users will be able to disable it at any time.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through your account Settings. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems. Essential security logs may be retained as required for platform integrity and legal compliance, but these do not include message content or personal profile information.

6. Data Resets During Beta

During the Public Beta, messages and non-essential data (such as conversation history and uploaded media) may be reset as part of platform updates and development. Usernames will not be wiped - your username remains associated with your account through any resets.

7. Sharing of Data

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or third-party marketers. Data may only be shared with infrastructure providers strictly necessary for operating the platform (such as hosting and delivery services), and only to the extent required for those operations.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including secure authentication, encrypted connections, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot provide an absolute guarantee against unauthorized access. We are committed to improving our security measures as the platform develops.
